Equator Heritage Center.
Architecture Design Project ENDS 3271 Credit Unit: 10
This design is a proposal of a Heritage Centre for Child Africa, a non-profit organisation that takes care of disadvantaged children in East Africa. The Site is located in Nabusanke, Uganda and the equator line crosses it. The proposed design includes an exhibition gallery, a media library, a village museum, a restaurant and shops to let.
The proposed Heritage centre is meant to inform, interpret and display natural, cultural and historic materials and resources of the different tribes of Uganda.
The design interprets traditional building forms into a contemporary language. The material palette is restricted to reinforced concrete structural elements, Harvey tiles and clay brick walls
